ONTARIO SMALL BUSINESS SUPPORT GRANT
January 18, 2021
• To support businesses that are required to close or significantly restrict services under the new Province Wide Shutdown
• $10,000 to $20,000 grants to eligible businesses with less than 100 employees
• Must demonstrate a revenue decline of 20% in April 2020 vs April 2019
• Other comparative time periods are available if the business was not in operation in April 2019
• Businesses not eligible for the grant are those:
• Already required to close prior to the introduction of modified Stage 2 measures
• Essential businesses permitted to operate with capacity restrictions
• Grant can be used to support the greatest need of the business, such as employee wages, maintaining inventory etc.
MAIN STREET RELIEF GRANT FOR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
January 18, 2021
• $1,000 is available to small businesses in Ontario with 2 to 9 employees
• Grant is for businesses in the retail trade, accommodation and food services, repair and maintenance, personal and laundry services, and gyms and yoga studio sectors

• Need proof of purchase of PPE since March 17, 2020
• Picture of storefront
• Need general business information including business number as provided by Canada Revenue Agency
• Banking information
PROPERTY TAX AND ENERGY COST REBATE GRANTS
January 18, 2021
• Certain businesses that were required to shut down or significantly restrict services due to provincial public health measures (modified Stage 2 restrictions or in areas categorized as control, Lockdown or Province Wide Shutdown) are eligible for the grant, review instructions on the portal found below
• Need general business information including business number as provided by Canada Revenue Agency
• Banking information
• Need property tax bill or proof of costs associated with property taxes (lease) pertaining to the modified Stage 2, Control, Lockdown or Province Wide Shutdown period
• Residential property taxes are not eligible
• Electricity bill and heating bill (natural gas, heating oil or propane) pertaining to the modified Stage 2, Control, Lockdown or Province Wide Shutdown period
• Detailed instructions on eligible expenses can be found in the application portal under energy cost details
• For example, businesses in all Public Health Units newly affected by the Province Wide Shutdown implemented on December 26th, 2020 may claim up to 1 electricity bill and 1 heating bill per business location. Bill must be dated no earlier than December 26th
