THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA LAUNCHES ONLINE CALCULATOR TO HELP BUSINESSES APPLY FOR THE NEW CANADA RECOVERY HIRING PROGRAM (CRHP)
The Government of Canada has announced that they have created an online calculator to assist you with the calculations of the new Canada Recovery Hiring Program (CRHP) that came into effect June 6, 2021. This program runs parallel to the existing Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS) for the next few months. You can compare which program provides you with the best results and apply for that program during the available periods.
The CRHP is to support businesses with hiring the workers they need to recover and grow as local economies open. The program is meant to support payrolls as businesses grow, whether as a result of hiring staff, increasing shifts, or increasing overall pay. The CEWS was meant to help eligible employers keep their employees on their payroll and help them rehire. The CRHP is designed to encourage businesses to hire or rehire and grow as the economy recovers. Using the Online Calculator from the Government of Canada, you can determine which subsidy gives you the higher amount, so you know which one to apply for.
